Reasons Why Postcard Printing Helps Your Business

Postcard printing is one of the most cost effective ways to market your product or service offered. It is very versatile and with the correct marketing strategy, postcard printing can be the most useful tool that you have in your marketing arsenal.

Postcard printing helps your business in a number of ways:

•    High quality prints at very affordable prices – advancements in printing technology have made printing available and accessible to people. Years ago, printing your materials can only be cost effective when you want to print in bulk or when you have a large number of prints that you want done. This is because of the fact that during those times, there are many mechanical processes that you need to go through in order to print your materials. Processes like color separation and film stripping are examples of these types of processes.

Today, these mechanical processes are no longer needed in order for your prints to be done. The advancements in printing technology as well as the coming of the digital age have transformed the process of how we create our prints. Digital printing allows for a direct to printer process that let’s you forego and bypass all the processes all the above mentioned processes. Just upload your files into the computer and the data goes directly to the printer which in turn produces the prints that you want.

•    Fast turnaround time – since many analog and mechanical processes are by passed in printing your materials digitally, considerable time and resources are saved. This allows you to have your prints at a much quicker time.

Also, many printing companies today offer on demand printing services that allows you to specify not only the design specifics of your print project but it also lets you decide on when you want your prints done. Print on demand is an ideal service that will help you when you want your prints done quickly. The ability of digital printers to print short run makes them a valuable option to have when you are rushing a project or if you are pressed for time.

•    Fast and easy online ordering – another technological breakthrough that helped in making printing available to the masses is the advent of the internet. Customers no longer need to go to the printing company in person to place an order. Whether you are at home or at the office, you can place your orders with just a few clicks on the mouse.

Many printing companies even employ FTP file servers that make uploading your files and designs easily. Normally the bigger the file size makes your uploading time longer. However, when you have an FTP file server available, even files that are 50MB or higher will be fast and easy to do.

Also, the options that you can do with your postcards are limitless. Here are some postcard ideas that you may want to try out:

•    Use them on direct mail marketing campaigns
•    Use die cutting services
•    Try and use custom sizes
•    Experiment with hybrid designs through product perforations

Multiple Tiled Canvas Prints

Canvas prints are fast becoming the most popular kind of artwork for decorating your home and brightening up those blank walls!  So you’ve made the first important decision of what kind of artwork you’re going for – now to choose the image and size!

But if you’re looking for something a bit different and need to cover a really big wall, how big can you go?  With multiple tiled canvas prints there’s no limit and you can guarantee that this kind of super-scale canvas artwork will create a real ‘wow’ factor in any room with dramatic impact guaranteed, creating a sensation of movement as the viewer walks past the artwork, that is an amazing trick of the eye.

So what are multiple tiled canvas prints?  It is simply one single image or photo split up and printed onto several canvases instead of just one large one.  But don’t be fooled by the simplicity of this concept.  The whole picture is carefully and precisely split up into separate tiles with the image continuing around the sides of the frame, so that when all the canvases are hung together the edges match up perfectly. The cleverly skilled processes include knowing how to split the image to its best effect, bleeding the image around the edges of the frame and also accurately hand stretching each individual canvas to the nearest millimetre. The end result when all tiles are hung and equally spaced on the wall is more than eye catching – the image really does follow you around the room!

So how many tiled canvas prints can you have?  The usual format is to have three different canvases arranged in a row which is known as a triptych and many canvas printing companies now offer this style.  But… this is where CanvasRus is different.  They offer up to six different formats with 2 different size canvases for both square and rectangular images, so 12 formats altogether.  For example the largest they could do would be a square image split into nine 18″x18″ canvases making huge canvas artwork of an overall size of nearly 5ft square!

However, through their parent company, Portobello Art, dealing solely with trade customers, they have now become renowned in the hospitality and leisure industries for their bespoke floor to ceiling artwork.  One project recently completed was for a hotel who needed artwork for a huge lobby wall that needed to be 14ft high by 12ft wide and their own bespoke image was split into 56 (7 across and 8 down) separate square 20″x20″ canvases!  The whole effect was simply stunning!

So you’re now convinced – what image to choose?  If you use your own photos, landscape, scenery and floral shots will look fantastic but portrait and facial close-ups don’t work as well because invariably you will find that an eye or mouth has to be cut in half!!  If you can’t find a suitable photo then have a look through the CanvasRus eight themed galleries of stylish images from Abstract artwork through Iconic images all the way to kids murals and you’re sure to find something that will suit your style or colour scheme.

CanvasRus has a huge customer base and through their parent trade company they supply thousands of canvas prints to retail and trade customers printing 250-300 canvas prints a day (that’s right – a day, not a week!) and fulfilling over 200 individual orders a week, which means that they are confident in claiming to be the top printer of canvas prints in the UK.

Be reassured when visiting and purchasing from CanvasRus. The online payment facilities are secure with all major credit card and debit card payments accepted. Postage and packing is £9 (per order, no matter how many canvases!) for mainland UK with a fast turnaround of 3-5 days from receipt of order.

CanvasRus is a well established online company with many years experience in the digital printing industry, specializing in creating beautiful canvas prints from customers’ own photos or original artwork. They have been in the art, print and framing trade for over 20 years and started digital printing over 10 years ago launching the CanvasRus website in 2004 and were probably one of the first to offer photos on canvas to the retail public. hp laserjet 2605dn with a loose spring?

Our office IT person is a hack. My boss had a label jam on her hp laserjet 2605dn, and our IT person went in, took some stuff apart, peeled out the label and put it all back together. And she couldn’t figure out where one last spring went, so she just gave it to my boss, who put it in her desk. Now the printer jams on *every* page, if you don’t stand over it and pull them out as you go along. When we told our IT person about the problem, she shrugged and said she doesn’t have the money to order a new printer.
The spring is about 3/4ths of an inch total, with the tightly coiled part measuring approximately 1/3rd inch. Can anyone tell me where it might go? Or where to find a set of schematics for the printer?

HP LaserJet 4240N ? 40 PPM Network Workgroup Printer

The HP LaserJet 4240N is a network ready monochrome laser device intended for extremely high output at a rapid speed. With a hefty duty cycle and print speed of a stunning 40 pages per minute, network users should no longer fear traffic jams at the laser printer, or user downtime due to limited print resources.

HP’s Instant On fusion technology brings warm up time down to virtually zero, and keeps the HP LaserJet 4240N’s first page at time at only 8 seconds. With time to first print this small, single page documents will no longer bog down networks with a large quantity of frequent users and, at 40 pages per minute, even massive workloads will process rapidly.

While 64 MBs of RAM comes standard with the HP LaserJet 4240N printer, two industry standard 100 pin DIMM slots allow for upgrades totaling a maximum of 512 MBs of RAM. Considering that the device was designed as a network machine built for optimal speed, additional memory might be a good investment to consider when dealing with complex print jobs such as mixed text and imagery. Additionally, two open compact flash slots are accessible internally as well.

The HP LaserJet 4240N’s maximum monthly duty cycle of 175,000 pages not only means that the machine is built and ready to deliver huge quantities of printed product, but the claim is backed by HP’s one year warranty as well which includes on site repair as well as remote technical support.

Though the unit is discontinued, and can therefore no longer be customized upon order, additional paper handling accessories are still available, and consist of a huge range of additional storage and management options. Various connectivity and additional memory add ons are optional as well.

While a single 500 sheet input tray and feeder unit can be added on to the device, a high capacity 1,500 sheet high capacity input tray is also optional to achieve maximum paper storage. An optional 75 sheet envelope feeder is a great option for the business that deals in a lot of postage, and a 500 sheet stacker or 500 sheet stapler stacker can help organize and segregate large projects that deal with many multi-page individuals.

For connectivity, multiple Jetdirect print servers can compliment the unit’s standard Ethernet and USB ports. Six Jetdirect options include wireless USB 2.0, fast Ethernet, standard USB, and others. On top of a range of DIMM memory cards, an HP high performance EIO hard disk can be installed for greater storage of permanent information. Maintenance kits as well as a variety of HP Care Packs are also available for purchase.

HP Care Packs can include networked or non networked installation, and 3 year extensions on the device’s exchange policy. With HP’s support and long history of models of this type, buyers can be confident that the HP LaserJet 4240N is a printer that will serve their small office well. Regardless of quantity demand, and individual needs, this LaserJet stands at the top of its class.
