PRIUS isn’t the only one running on battery power these days !!
Unfortunately, ( currently I’m also limited by the capacity of my car’s batteries — "thanks" to some trouble with the alternator.

OTOH, I carry a stack of backup batteries to power my telescope gear (smaller battery) and also to power the laptop/PC and car stereo/entertainment system (bigger one). So those batteries came to the rescue (literally) when the alternator broke down 2hrs south of San Jose.
Of course, they are of no use unless you also happen to carry the proper cables … (YES !!)

.
The setup shown here wasn’t intended as a backup for the car’s engine — I’ve chosen this for the easy access and to shift some of the heavy weights to the passenger side. Also the (metal) wall provides a good location to mount the extra DC/AC inverters and additional battery isolators & charger / maintainer

.

this is a little naughty ‘teaser’ :0

i have not forgotten you parcels people, i’m just curating the growing collection of odd and [hopefully] dandy goodies to send out across the globe

more stuff is on the way from hong kong and other points east )))

of course, there’s more groovy things than are pictured here, this is just a little taster of that which you can expect to receive should you be a raff winner, a parcel people or if you are up for trades/exchanges.

i won’t be telling what the prizes are if i do host a raffle, this is merely a gladbag to give you an idea as to what to expect.

Bought Alesis 6 channel USB compact mixer with the power on/off button ( which seems to be the real problem for some manufacturers). All-in-one type of the mixer. I like the appearance and small foot-print of the product. Curious how good the Alesis`s quality is. .00 tax included – B&H Super Store in NY City.
Pompano Beach, FL (PRWEB) May 19, 2007

On Saturday, May 19, 2007, 8:00PM at the John Slade Ely House (51 Trumbull St. New Haven, CT) Independent artist, Jellyshirts, will present why they have teamed with IndepenDisc to issue the unreleased 1998 Album “Outside” on USB Flashdrive format. This show will be held to introduce the public to the USB Flashdrive album as an alternative to (and eventual replacement of) the CD. There will be a short demonstration of the Flashdrive, and then IndepenDisc owner Gary Vollono will appear on a panel with the band to field questions. The band will then perform for the audience. Admission is free.

“The Album format is dying along with the CD. Digital downloads are robbing the artist of the quality and full fidelity of the medium in which they work. Downloads have also diminished the importance of the Album as a legitimate artistic presentation of the musical statement. The Flashdrive format restores all that and more.” says IndepenDisc owner Gary Vollono. Embracing the further advancement of technology, Gary contacted Jellyshirts frontman, Bret Logan, about a “great lost Jellyshirts album” that had been shelved 10 years earlier after only a short printing and no distribution.

Bret Logan responds: “It didn’t take much convincing from Gary to want Outside to be a part of his dream. While all the wranglings that had caused the album to be shelved were now gone, there was still little incentive to release it on CD. It had become clear that MP3s sales were now driving the music business and that the CD was going extinct. But that said, we also had no interest in releasing Outside as a smattering of MP3s. Not only are MP3s inferior quality, we also felt strongly that Outside was intended to be heard as an album.

What Gary proposed was something I’d been hoping for for a long time: the possibility of distributing an album in better-than-CD-quality [.wav] format, and requiring no moving parts — nothing to spin, skip, scratch, or wear-out in any way. As a bonus, the USB drive also offers a lot more room than a CD, which let us add five more songs not on the original album, and an 8 min. video of original recording footage, plus dozens of pictures, and ‘liner notes’ sorts of extras.”

The USB Flashdrive formatted Album “Outside” by Jellyshirts is being made by USBsmg.com, a Manufacturer of USB Flash Drives based in Pompano Beach, FL. USA. USBsmg.com is very excited about “changing the way people listen to music.” – Jon Salk, USBsmg.com.

“Outside” by Jellyshirts, in the USB Flashdrive format, will be available for purchase as of May 9, 2007 through IndepenDisc, and as of May 19, 2007, at most fine music retailers.

Aliso Viejo, CA (PRWEB) April 21, 2011

The United Nations has declared 2011 the International Year of Forests so there’s never been a better time to plant trees with the future stewards of the environment. ChariTREE sources seedlings native to each province and ships Wish Trees across Canada for campers and students to plant and make a wish for the planet. Summer camp directors and teachers have until May 2, 2011 to order trees.

“These days children have less time and fewer opportunities to connect with nature. This is a real loss because research shows that contact with nature makes kids feel better about themselves. We can’t let kids lose touch with nature – especially now,” said Andrea Koehle Jones, Executive Director of The ChariTREE Foundation. She says one of the best ways to learn about the environment is to plant a tree.

The number of trees planted is growing this year thanks to ChariTREE’s partnership with Centon Electronics, Inc. and Staples Canada. For each DataStick Green USB sold at Staples, $ 1 will be donated to The ChariTREE Foundation to plant a tree.

“When business can support the environment it is a win-win situation for everyone. We are pleased with the success of the DataStick Green Drive and the consumer support of this program,” said Jennifer Miscione, Director of Sales and Marketing.

“Staples believes in making it easy for people to make the right sustainable choices. Helping youth and the environment through our products, is one way we are making a difference,” commented Pete Gibel, Vice President of Merchandising and Co-Chair of the Eco Easy Committee for Staples Canada.

DataStick Green Pricing and Availability

Centon’s DataStick Green USB drives will be available in January at Staples stores across Canada and available online at http://www.staples.ca. All DataStick Green USB drives come with a lifetime warranty and toll free tech support.
