HP Laserjet 2600 printing error?

Can someone tell me if my colored cartridge is low but the black ink is full will that stop my printer from printing? Is there a way to override this manually?
thank you!

  1. If you run out of color, but black is still there, then it depends on the specs of the printer. Most modern printers will stop printing as a built-in feature to preserve the quality of the prints. On older printers, this can be overridden simply by choosing “Black and White only” in the Print properties – not sure exactly where in there, though.

An easy test that you can try is to buy the color cartridge for your printer, wait for the color to run out, then try to print black and white to the printer. If it doesn’t take, then you have the built-in programming preventing you from printing ANYTHING without both color and black toners.

    Hope this helps.
