The Accounting department in your company has five printers. Management has asked you to give them a report on the number of print jobs each printer produces so they can decide of all of the printers in use are necessary. How do you do this?

  1. I need more details, but I know HP laser printers have counters that keep track of that. See if you can log in to the management interface on your printers.

  2. If you got Active Directory and it will be easy for you.

    1. If the printer got network card then you can just plug it in to the network and install the printer at your SERVER. If it’s not then Install the printer in each computer and share it after that, Install the printer at your SERVER (\computer_nameprinter_name)
    2. Go to http://www.papercut.com/products/free_software/print_logger/ and download free print logger

Thats it papercut print logger will record who is printing to which printer, how many pages, at what time, what file name they print, etc etc etc.

    Hope it helps
