The HP LaserJet 4300 is the third in a series of monochrome lasers from HP that has progressed in speed by an astonishing ten pages per minute throughout the series, starting with the HP LaserJet 4100 at 25 pages per minute, then moving on to the HP LaserJet 4200 at 35 pages per minute, and resulting in the HP LaserJet 4300’s 45 pages per minute speed. All other upgraded models include Jetdirect, while the HP LaserJet 4300tn also includes an additional 500 sheet tray, and the HP LaserJet 4300dtn includes both the additional paper storage tray and a built in external duplexor as well, allowing for automatic double sided printing. Two other models offer the choice between a 500 sheet stapler stacker hardware accessory and a standard stacker for organizing output mechanically.

All models operate with HP’s Instant On fuser technology that reduces warm up time to virtually zero, as well as assists in keeping the device’s first page out time to a mere 8.5 seconds. Quality runs high with the unit, and is selectable at resolutions up to 1200 x 1200 dots per inch. Lower quality levels are also optional for faster output, and toner saver modes can help reduce overall ink usage, therefore cutting costs.
