Fantastic HP Printer – Except for the Pesky USB Cable!

I absolutely LOVED the HP e-All-In-One Premium Printer – it’s handy and really great quality! I didn’t like that it required a USB for set-up, though – and the printer doesn’t even come with one!

Realizing The Beneficial Functions Of Cable Printer USB

The connection of the cable printer USB to the notebook or desktop ports has never been easier. Differences do exist between cords and systems according to whether you need to use more printers in parallel or just one. For very complex systems with multiple parallel printers a special adapter cable is required enabling the use of up to 127 printers in parallel. This kind of connection saves the remaining computer ports for other devices. It is highly important to establish the cable printer USB compatibility with the device as such.

Check for quick installation features, plug and play design, the compatibility with the Windows or Linux operating platform. Mention must be made that for Windows, most cable printer USB applications are compatible only with platforms above Windows 98. Read the manual of the printer to learn about the kind of USB cables that need to be used. Sometimes, the cable printer USB application may require the use of a special software, and this aspect needs to be clarified before you attempt any connection. As for the length of the cord, the location of the printer is definitely relevant for this issue.

You should add between two and five extra feet when calculating the distance between the printer and the computer so that the cable printer USB extension makes a good match. For the printing of very large files, regular USB cords are not enough: the alternative consists of high speed gold plated USB cables. If you work with the printer a lot, and the materials you print are more special or complex, the best idea is to purchase special cable printer USB products that insure a quick and thorough data transfer.

Besides the high speed cable printer USB cords, there are also low speed items that have a transfer rate of only 12 Mb per second . They usually correspond to USB 1.1 and USB 1.0, but they are compatible with the newer USB 2.0 as well. Nevertheless, USB 2.0 printers have no compatibility with cable printers designed for USB 1.0 or 1.1. One further advantage of USB printer cables is that they allow for the printing device to be connected without any need to restart the computer. Some drivers are usually required for the printer to function but they are provided together with the printer upon purchase.

Worlds First Full Speed USB Keystroke Recording Device or Keylogger, Looks Like USB Extension Cable.

Christchurch, Canterbury (PRWEB) December 20, 2005

DesignREM today announced the release of the worlds first device that records USB full speed keystrokes.

The keylogger device has 512KB of non-volatile flash memory, and looks like a USB extension cable.

Measuring just 60x18x18mm, the USB keylogger has two internal CPU’s totalling 90MIPS of processing power. 90MIPS of processing power is more processing power than an iPod Nano contains.

Records keystrokes from all USB keyboards on both PC and Mac. Works on any operating system including Windows, Linux and Mac OS.

“Journalists and writers have shown a particularly strong interest – the ability to record the last 3 years of typing in secure flash memory is proving to be an invaluable backup tool.” says Shane Tolmie, managing director of DesignREM.

“I can’t tell you how many articles I have lost over the years when Windows flakes out,” says Shane McGlaun, Computer Peripherals editor of www.about.com.

The founding director of DesignREM was also responsible for the invention of the worlds first PS/2 keylogger in 1999. This PS/2 keylogger device was later annexed in 2003 and sold separately by the current competitor, KeyGhost.

The KeyPhantom USB is entirely firmware upgradable via a Windows utility, allowing future expansion for recording generic USB traffic from devices such as bar code, thumb print, or magnetic stripe readers.

The built-in network port allows you to use the printer as an IP device. Rather than connecting it to a PC, you’ll have to plug it into your router and set an IP address on the printer through the “Setup” menu. Then, you can connect to it via TCP/IP. This can get a little complicated, but the following links have great descriptions with pictures.

How to fix printer that does not print unless we unplug and plug back in the usb cable?

Sharp Am-900 printer connected to Win XP system via USB cable. We turned off Power Management on the USB Root Hubs. Even went in to the Registry and totally disabled USB power management. Still need to unplug and plug back in the USB cable in order to print. A delay of just a couple of minutes in between print jobs will cause us to have to do the annoying unplug and plug back in. Each time we do this, the print job always print.
USB cable is new. Printer does not have Serial port.
