HP LaserJet M2727nf ? Duplexing, Networking MFC from HP

Sporting many of the features that have made HP one of the industry leaders in print technology, such as their no wait Instant On fuser technology, the HP LaserJet M2727nf offers buyers a way to save money by combining many essential office appliances into one multifunctional device. With fast print and copy speeds, but minimal expandability options, the M2727nf keeps costs low and performance high.

A print speed of 27 pages per minute helps to keep user downtime at a minimum when dealing with large projects, though, when the HP LaserJet M2727nf is set to best quality mode, print speed takes a drastic hit and is reduced to only 8 pages per minute. With no warm up time, the unit can execute a first page out time of a respectable 10 seconds, so even single page print jobs will be ready with rapid speed.

A 450 MHz processor also helps to keep things moving along briskly, as does on board Random Access Memory totaling 64 MBs. Unfortunately, RAM is not expandable with the HP LaserJet M2727nf, and neither is paper storage, though, interestingly the unit does come with an open 144 pin DDR2 DIMM slot. Standard paper storage comes in the form of a 300 sheet capacity standard paper tray, and a 50 sheet multipurpose tray that can be used with envelopes, transparencies, index cards, and card stock.

The HP LaserJet M2727nf’s paper output capacity rests at 125 sheets, and a built in automatic duplexor can help to reduce overall paper usage by as much as half. With automatic duplexing, two sided printing is made easy, providing a professional finish to documents that is also cost effective.

Various resolution settings allow users to select how their output will look, and how fast workloads will print. REt, HP FastRes, HP ProRes 1200, and HP TrueRes settings are selectable with a maximum print quality of 1200 x 1200 dots per inch. The unit’s monthly duty cycle of 15,000 sheets total is slightly limiting for work scenarios with high print demands, and the automatic document feeder’s 2,250 page maximum is even more crippling to productivity.

HP recommends only 750 sheets to 3,000 sheets of output per month for maximum performance and lifespan, but HP does back the printer up with a one year limited warranty that includes telephone and web based technical support.

Copy resolution is slightly limited, at only 600 x 600 dots per inch, but scan resolution is selectable up to a full 1200 x 1200 dots per inch optical, and up to 19,200 dots per inch when using scan resolution enhancement. Both fax and copy speeds are fairly fast, with fax transmissions possible at up to 3 seconds per page thanks to a built in 33.6 Kbps fax modem.

The HP LaserJet M2727nf is a hefty unit, weighing in at 37.8 pounds, with a footprint of 19.7 x 16 x 18 in. (W x D x H), but is fairly affordable considering its versatile hardware set,the duplexor, and network card, making it a good buy for those with light print demands.

Hp Color Laserjet 3800Dn – Duplexing, Ethernet, And Color In An Hp Laser

As part of HP’s LaserJet 3800 series, the HP Color LaserJet 3800dn offers users a color laser device in a line of quality, high end printers that have proven to be dependable, and also includes standardized automatic duplexing hardware, as well as built in networking. With exceptional print speeds in both color and black and white, along with an array of options and add ons, the LaserJet 3800dn stands out as the centerpiece of the 3800 line.

Operating at up to 22 pages per minute in both monochrome and color alike, the HP Color LaserJet 3800dn places itself at the high end of home color laser devices and, unlike the base model HP Color LaserJet 3800, the 3800dn comes equipped with not only the standard USB 2.0 high speed port, but an embedded HP Jetdirect Ethernet print server for office networking. A host USB accessory slot is also incorporated into the model, as well as a single EIO slot.

The open EIO slot can be used for a variety of external accessories, including network adapters, an IEEE 1284B parallel port, or an external hard drive, which leaves room for such options as gigabit Ethernet, a 802.11b/g wireless LAN for total wireless access, or other interesting network options and external memory.

The optional hard drive add on boasts a large, 20 GB storage capacity that can be used for simultaneous network project assistance, or for permanent storage of frequently used documents. Standard random access memory comes in at 288 MBs, which is further expandable to 544 MBs for slightly faster handling when dealing with complex imagery.

A 250 sheet capacity standard paper tray is built in to the HP Color LaserJet 3800dn, as well as a 100 sheet multi purpose tray for use with special media types such as envelopes and custom letterhead. It can also be utilized for additional letter or legal sized storage space, or, for even more storage, an additional 500 sheet tray can be purchased separately. HP also offers a version of the model, the HP Color LaserJet 3800dtn, that comes with the tray included, and all of the same features.

With a footprint of 22.6 x 22.5 x 20.3 in (W x D x H), the HP Color LaserJet 3800dn comes in fairly large dimensions, and will stand even taller when the additional 500 sheet tray is interfaced with the unit. It also sits at just barely under 60 pounds, including the ink cartridge, making it just slightly too big to be considered a desktop printer, but still within reasonable specifications for a color laser printer, which tend to run on the large size in comparison to their monochrome counterparts.

HP advertises a 65,000 sheet maximum monthly duty cycle for the unit, and backs up their claim with a one year limited warranty that includes web and phone based tech support, as well as guaranteed next day on site repair service. Considering the HP Color LaserJet 3800dn‘s price range, it could be considered a decent purchase for a small office considering a color capable unit.

Hp Color Laserjet Cp2025Dn – Duplexing, Network Color Laser Printer

Though the HP Color LaserJet CP2025dn is a seemingly straightforward color laser printer, its simple hardware is beefed up with a few versatile features such as a built in duplexor, along with an impressive set of specifications. With a both a reasonable price tag and footprint alike, the LaserJet CP2025dn stands as a good buy for a business of any size looking to add the power of color laser printing the their hardware set.

While color and black and white print speeds operate at the same rate of 21 pages per minute, start up times vary, but only slightly, with monochrome first page time locked at 17.2 seconds for letter sized paper, and color clocking in not far behind at 17.7 seconds. With speeds above 20 pages per minute, the HP Color LaserJet CP2025dn is not only suitable as a personal or home printer, but as a fully networkable office device as well.

The HP Color LaserJet CP2025dn comes with a built in network card and a Fast Ethernet 10/100 Base TX port for connectivity across an entire business. A high speed USB port is also included for standard, single computer use.

With a total product weight of 52.7 lbs, the HP Color LaserJet CP2025dn is a little on the heavy side, but no more so than similar color laser devices on the market, which tend to run high in the weight category. A footprint of about 16 x 19 inches (W x D) also makes it fairly manageable within a desktop environment, though maximum dimensions can extend up to 16 x 27 inches via fold out trays and accessories. A height of only 12.7 inches is actually very impressing, especially considering the paper capacity.

A 250 sheet input tray should keep paper refill cycles at a decent length, along with the help of a 50 sheet multi purpose tray. An optional 250 sheet tray will increase the HP Color LaserJet CP2025dn’s overall height, but also almost double its paper storage capacity, and should be considered when operating at high volume output via a network. A 150 sheet face down output bin is not expandable, but should be more than enough considering the model’s performance capabilities.

With duplex printing hardware fully concealed within the HP Color LaserJet CP2025dn’s hardware, automatic double sided printing makes professional looking document production easy, and efficient. Two sided printing can potentially reduce paper usage by as much as half, cutting down drastically on overall operating costs for not only standard paper, but types such as bond, brochure, colored, glossy, letterhead, photo, plain, preprinted, pre punched, recycled, rough, transparencies, labels, and envelopes as well.

With an impressively fast 540 MHz processor, large projects should not cause a problem with the HP Color LaserJet CP2025dn, and if the standard 128 MBs of on board memory proves not to suffice via extensive, complex image printing, upgrades totaling up to 384 MBs are available as well. Resolutions run at 600 x 600 dots per inch for color and monochrome alike and, while the HP Color LaserJet CP2025dn isn’t the absolute cheapest color laser on the market, it backs up its cost with decent hardware.

Hp Color Laserjet 2605Dn – Network Duplexing Color Laser Printer

The user friendly HP Color LaserJet 2605dn is one of the better designed units on the market concerning ownership of a color laser device by a home business. Though print speeds suffer drastically when compared to higher end models, the intuitive controls and simple features, as well as affordable price tag, make the LaserJet 2605dn a considerable option not only for a small office, but personal ownership as well.

Print speeds run at about half that of office level color laser units, with only 12 pages per minute for black and white printing, and up to 10 pages per minute for color. A first page time of 20 seconds is also considerably slower than the HP Color LaserJet 2605dn’s higher priced rivals.

With an emphasis on ease of use, the HP Color LaserJet 2605dn comes equipped with a two line, 16 character display that not only alerts users of printer status in plain, easy to read English, but also assists in making setup easier than ever, even for a novice user. Included software such as HP Web Jetadmin Peripheral Management and HP SureSupply also make setting up the printer and managing toner easy.

The HP Color LaserJet 2605dn’s paper handling abilities weigh in at a standard total of 250 sheets, with an optional, additional 250 sheet paper tray. While the HP Color LaserJet 2605 and 2605dn models come only with a single tray, HP also offers a HP Color LaserJet 2605dtn that comes with the additional paper storage included. The 2605dtn also interestingly comes with photo memory card slots, whereas the other models do not. A 125 sheet output bin is standard on all units.

With the HP Color LaserJet 2605dn and 2605dtn models, not only is networking made standard, but duplexing as well, for a significant boost in potential productivity over the base model. With network duplexing, it’s possible for an entire office or household to reap the benefits of double sided printing, a feature that can not only add a polished, professional look to documents, but also cut down on paper usage by as much as half.

A built in high speed USB 2.0 port complements the built in 10/100 Base TX Ethernet/ Fast Ethernet port for users who wish to use the HP Color LaserJet 2605dn as a personal printer alone. HP ImageRE resolution enhancement technology allows for great quality color prints at 2400 dots per inch, while a 300 MHz processor ensures that workloads move smoothly.

With 64 MBs of built in memory, most projects will operate without incident, but if super high complexity and imagery begins to slow production down, an industry standard 100 pin DIMM slot allows for a variety of possibly memory upgrades totaling no more than 320 MBs of overall RAM. A maximum monthly duty cycle of 35,000 sheets, along with a one year limited warranty and exchange policy, ensure that the HP Color LaserJet 2605dn will serve as a decent long term investment for a home business, or even a small office interested in color laser technology.

Hp Laserjet 1320 ? Duplexing, Efficient Hp Laser Printer

Operating with high print speeds and virtually no warm up time via HP’s Instant On technology, this boxy monochrome laser printer, the HP LaserJet 1320, is built to keep small business and home offices’ print jobs moving along at a steady pace with minimal down time. Its automatic two sided printing also increases productivity, and reduces paper usage as well.

With automatic duplexing, printing double sided documents is fully automated and, with the HP LaserJet 1320, is done quickly which can not only add a professional feel to work loads, but reduce paper costs by as much as half as well. A first page out time of only 8 seconds and an advertised print speed of 22 pages per minute mean that, even with heavy print demands, processes will move along smoothly.

While an embedded USB port and Parallel port are made available for simple, single PC or Mac connections, the HP LaserJet 1320 leaves multiple options open for networking; both wired and wireless. With HP Jetdirect external print servers, HP wireless print servers, or a Bluetooth wireless print adapter, the machine can be taken advantage of by an entire household or small workgroup.

Paper handling abilities are strong with the HP LaserJet 1320 which offers a standard 250 sheet input tray as well as an option to expand up to 500 maximum total sheets via a second 250 sheet tray. A single sheet multipurpose input slot is also implemented into the front of the unit for straight path, special media types such as single envelopes, transparencies, and card stock.

As these special media types are not often needed in high volume, a single, hand feed slot should suffice for users with mostly standard letter and legal sized print projects. An output capacity of 125 sheets should also serve as more than plenty for most users.

Print quality runs high with the HP LaserJet 1320, which is selectable up to 1200 x 1200 dots per inch for incredibly crisp text and even mixed text and graphics. 16 MBs of standard memory and a 133 MHz on board processor ensure that even when you do mix graphics and text, the printer won’t bog down and, even if greater speed in that situation is desired, HP has left a 100 Pin DIMM slot open for memory expansion in different increments, and not to exceed 144 MBs.

The HP LaserJet 1320 recognizes and emulates PCL 6, PCL 5e, and HP postscript level 2 languages, making it compatible with most businesses current systems. It also comes in a surprisingly efficient size, possibly due to its cube-ish design, which makes it suitable even for small workspaces.

Its footprint of 13.8 x 14 x 10.1 in (W x D x H) and weight of 24.7 pounds make the HP LaserJet 1320 one of the more manageable devices of its kind, and a reasonable price tag when considering the hardware, along with a one year limited replacement policy, make it a great selection for smaller offices or personal users.
