“This is a unique feature of our game,” says Mylan Le, customer service manager of PrintCountry.com. “We think good players should be rewarded for their time and skill. It’s possible to get up to twenty dollars in store discounts using points earned in the game.”

Points are based on fulfillment of customer orders, which involves different type of printing projects, paper and printers. Each customer comes in with a “mood scale,” which also can add or subtract to points. If a player fails to correctly match the right elements with the project, the order cannot be fulfilled. If the project takes too long or is incorrect, the customer becomes unhappy, their mood will drop and they will leave. The player loses points. When an order is handled accurately, the business reputation goes up, and points are added.

“It’s not an easy game,” says Ms. Le. “The object is match projects and printers with the right printer, ink and paper, while keeping the time and cost factors in mind. For us, it’s everyday real life, but we believe those who play the game will find it fun and challenging, not to mention rewarding when they use the points for discounts.”

With stunning graphics and many tasks to perform, the game is getting excellent reviews since its release in early November. It was downloaded 300 times in the first three days on the market. The free app was developed by RhinoForce, LLC and can be downloaded at iTunes

UTec to Grab Color Toner Market Share by Adding More High Quality Cartridges

In general, Ngo says UTec markets its color cartridges at less than half the OEM cartridge price providing UTec dealers with incredible sales opportunities. “UTec cartridges present end users a compelling value proposition because they perform like OEM cartridges and cost significantly less.” Moreover, Ngo adds that they deliver between five and ten percent more pages than the equivalent OEM product. “Providing low-cost quality color cartridges with higher page yields allows UTec customers to drive down operating costs for their end users,” she says.

According to Ngo, the present market offers UTec distributors a unique opportunity to grow their color toner cartridge sales along with market share. Despite growing consumer interest, overall aftermarket penetration of the color toner market has been slowed because so many third-party supplies firms market cartridges that are inferior to OEM products. The poor performance of these second-rate products has stymied market growth. Unlike most of its competitors, Print Rite follows ISO manufacturing and testing standards at its state-of-the-art manufacturing facility so it can consistently supply UTec with color cartridges that rival the price or performance—or both—of OEM products. “Because third-party supplies represent only a tiny share of the overall color toner cartridge market, there are tremendous growth opportunities for our distributors in this category,” Ngo says.

HP LaserJet 4250 ? High Performance Printer with Optional Hard Disk

It’s hard to imagine a problem with overloading the HP LaserJet 4250, with its maximum monthly duty cycle of 200,000 imprinted pages. This medium office sized printer comes in a bulky package, but performs where it counts in almost all areas including expandability. If you’re looking for a device that can not only print at unbelievably fast speeds, while maintaining reliability, this older HP model should be of interest.

A print speed of up to 45 pages per minute makes the HP LaserJet 4250 faster than any home or desktop device and, though the price for this much power is high, it can ultimately save money by cutting down drastically on user downtime. The device’s Instant On technology also helps to keep operations running quickly thanks to a reduction of warm up time to virtually zero, and a first page out time to a mere 8 seconds.

Speeds this fast are only possible by way of a built in 460 MHz processor. Also helping in the effort is a built in 64 MB random access memory chip, which can be further expanded all the way up to 512 MBs using one, or both, of the two open 100 pin DDR DIMM slots internalized within the machine. Two industry standard Compact Flash slots are left open as well for various uses.

An optional 20 GB HP high performance EIO hard disk can also be incorporated into the hardware for permanent or long term storage of frequently used documents and data. Other expandability options include additional paper storage and Jetdirect Fast Ethernet servers, or users have the option of purchasing the pre upgraded version of the device, the HP LaserJet 4250tn, which includes both network capability and an additional 500 sheet paper tray.

As it stands, the HP LaserJet 4250 comes with a stock paper storage capacity of 1,100 total sheets, composed of primary and auxiliary 500 sheet trays, and a 100 sheet priority slot. With various configuration options and high capacity paper trays available for purchase separately, the device’s total potential paper storage runs all the way up to 3,100 sheets.

Output capacity is also expandable to a degree, with its stock 300 sheet maximum (composed of 250 face down and 50 face up spaces) leaving room for either a 500 sheet paper stacker, or a 500 sheet stapler stacker expansion.  The only other notable expansion hardware available is the HP LaserJet 75 sheet envelope feeder, which can be a lifesaver when dealing with a large output of custom envelopes.

As the HP LaserJet 4250 is an aging unit, its weight and footprint run high. Dimensions of 16.5 in x 17.8 in x 19.6 in (W x D x H) and weight of a solid 60 pounds make it suitable only for a reasonably sized office. While it is important to remember that the HP LaserJet 4250 base unit is not network ready, it would appear that the only feasible way to obtain the proper use out of the machine would be via multiple users, and the network expansion should definitely be considered.
