Operating at an incredibly fast print speed and capable of extremely high output, the HP Laserjet 9050 is one of the fastest 11 x 17 tabloid / ledger style printers on the market today. Though the unit itself is quite costly, its robust hardware designed for extremely high monthly output promises huge productivity numbers for both standard paper sizes and oversized formats.

HP’s Instant On fuser technology makes warm up time for the HP Laserjet 9050 virtually zero, and allows for a first page out time of only 8 seconds. Print speed clocks in at up to 50 pages per minute for letter sized paper, making the device easily one of the fastest printers of any kind available.

Though the HP Laserjet 9050′s resolution is locked at only 600 x 600 dots per inch, it is capable of utilizing HP’s FastRes resolution enhancement technology for a 1,200 dot per inch equivalent. The unit prints exclusively in black and white and is by no means capable of photo quality resolution, limiting its usefulness as a poster or graphic arts printer, but oversized business and text documents will come out looking professional, and original.

The HP Laserjet 9050 boasts a maximum monthly duty cycle of 300,000 printed pages, meaning that extremely high output is not a problem whatsoever for the unit, though HP itself does recommend only a 15,000 to 50,000 page per month average usage for optimal performance and lifespan. If problems do arise, HP backs the printer with their one year limited replacement plan and technical support.

Standard included memory with the HP Laserjet 9050 is a sufficient 128 MBs. This amount of RAM should prove to be plenty for standard text documents. However, considering the nature of the oversized format, complex print projects, such as mixed text and imagery, are a highly likely outcome of the printer, which could result in slowdown. The printer comes with an open memory slot to remedy this possibly threat, and can accept up to a total of 512 MBs of memory.

The HP Laserjet 9050′s processor is more than sufficient at 533 MHz, and the unit’s paper handling abilities are admirable. With two 500 sheet trays standard, the printer can hold, and switch between, both letter or legal sized paper in one bin, and tabloid sized paper in another, making switching between media types easy. A 100 sheet multipurpose tray is also included for special or oddly shaped media types.

A 2,000 sheet additional input tray is available for purchase separately, as well as a number of finishing hardware options such as a 3,000 sheet stacker and a 3,000 sheet stapler / stacker. An 8 bin mailbox can also be attached for automatic project sorting, and a multifunctional finisher is available for special finishing tasks.

Two output bins, a 500 sheet standard bin and a 100 sheet face up bin, further complement this extremely high volume printer, and cement the HP Laserjet 9050‘s standing as a top of the line tabloid monochrome printer for both speed and output capacity.

HP Introduces World’s Fastest Inkjet Printer All-in-ones, Expands Color Printing Options for Small Businesses

HP Introduces World’s Fastest Inkjet Printer All-in-ones, Expands Color Printing Options for Small Businesses

Palo Alto, CA (PRWEB) February 6, 2007

HP today expanded its color printing portfolio targeting small businesses, including the introduction of the world’s fastest inkjet printer all-in-ones and a new high-capacity ink cartridge line with HP Vivera inks.(1)

The portfolio offers industry-leading speed and affordability and includes three new high-performance HP Officejet Pro All-in-Ones, three new HP Officejet Pro single-function printers and a new low-cost HP Officejet All-in-One for improved productivity.

HP additionally unveiled an easy-to-download SureSupply Software Utility for enhanced supplies manageability as well as high-capacity HP Vivera ink cartridge products for extended cost savings.

“The high-performance HP Officejet Pro All-in-Ones provide small businesses with color printing comparable to laser printing with faster speeds and at a fraction of the cost,” said Karl Schwenkmeyer, vice president of marketing, Inkjet Systems, HP. “Today’s introductions are another milestone in HP’s commitment to deliver faster speeds and greater affordability while meeting the color printing needs of demanding business environments.”

Expanded color printing portfolio and new all-in-one printers

The new HP Officejet Pro inkjet printer series, the world’s fastest desktop printers for business color,(1) significantly drive down the cost of color printing, making it easy and affordable for businesses to produce brilliant and durable, professional-quality marketing materials in-house.

The printers are ideally suited for small businesses, which can increase productivity and save space by printing, copying, scanning and faxing in one convenient, single device that sits on a desktop. Both Officejet Pro printer series are built on HP’s Scalable Printing Technology, which offers faster speeds, lower costs and higher quality and reliability.

The HP Officejet Pro L7000 All-in-One inkjet printer series includes multifunction capabilities and allows users to quickly print documents of up to 12 pages per minute (ppm) black and up to 10 ppm color at Laser Quality Speeds, a measurement established by HP to offer customers a more direct comparison of the print speeds between ink and laser printers using comparable print qualities.(2) And they do this at up to 25 percent lower cost per page than comparable laser printers — as low as 6 cents per color page.(3) The Officejet Pro L7000 series is expected to be available in March and starts at $ 299.(4)

HP established Laser Quality Speed (LQS) to offer customers a more direct comparison of the print speeds between ink and laser printers using comparable print qualities. The print speed experienced by customers from an inkjet printer is dependent on many variables, including the coverage and content of the printed document. In contrast, laser print speed is much less dependent on document content and coverage. LQS allows a more direct comparison with published laser printer ppm specifications. For more information, visit http://www.hp.com/hpinfo/newsroom/press_kits/2007/smbcolorprinting/prodsol.html.

The HP Officejet Pro K5400 Printer series delivers fast, Laser Quality Speeds(2) and up to 25 percent lower cost per page than in-class laser printers,(5) with comparable print quality and reliability. This series is expected to be available in March starting at $ 149.(4)

The HP Officejet J5700 All-in-One Printer series, with expected availability in February and starting at $ 149,(4) offers customers another robust, versatile printing solution for increased productivity at an affordable price.

All the new Officejet devices use high-capacity, low cost-per-page ink cartridge products with a unique HP Vivera ink optimized for plain paper office printing. Specialized HP Vivera office inks provide laser-quality text and consistent, brilliant images for brochures and marketing collateral on any paper as well as highly smear-resistant results when using HP Everyday Papers with ColorLok Technology.

HP Everyday Papers with ColorLok Technology are HP’s plain papers designed with HP printers for office use. Documents printed on these papers dry quickly and resist smearing for excellent results.

All of the products listed above will be available at the HP Home & Home Office Store (http://www.hpshopping.com), HP’s direct to customer online store.

Customers share their experiences with the new HP Officejet Pro series

HP recently offered the new HP Officejet Pro L7000 All-in-One series to small business users through a beta test program. Los Angeles-based Law Offices of Philip H. Acosta tested the new products with the goal of printing marketing collateral in-house. Acosta’s office found that the new HP Officejet Pro L7000 All-in-One inkjet printer series helped keep its marketing pieces flowing, both for proofs and for printing color materials.

“The HP Officejet Pro is a good match for a small legal firm,” said Christina Acosta, vice president, Marketing and Advertising, Law Offices of Philip H. Acosta. “It’s very fast, especially for smaller jobs, and offers multiple functions and quality printing for a mix of text and color graphics.”

Winner’s Circle Realty & Construction Co. LLC, a customer home and real estate sales company based in Chowchilla, Calif., near Fresno, also tested the new Officejet Pro series to create custom brochures for listings, a front-line marketing tool for real estate professionals. Like most small businesses, Winner’s Circle needs office equipment that is both flexible and reliable, which is why owner Brian L. Kirkpatrick has turned to HP inkjet printers and all-in-ones for routine office tasks.

“I couldn’t be more satisfied with the print quality. It’s just excellent,” said Kirkpatrick. “The quality of output from the new Officejet Pro is almost like the printing of a fine coffee table book.”

Extended costs savings and simple supplies management

The HP SureSupply Software Utility desktop solution boosts supplies manageability by linking customers directly to HP SureSupply, where they can immediately view a list of original HP inkjet cartridges, LaserJet toner cartridges and HP papers compatible with their printers. More information is available at http://www.hp.com/go/shopforsupplies.

Additionally, optional high-capacity HP Vivera ink cartridge products offer small and medium-size business customers convenience and savings when printing in high volumes. High-capacity print cartridges give customers more prints, which translates to less time spent changing cartridges and more time spent on business. And HP’s expansive supplies portfolio, including high-capacity cartridges and dual cartridge packs, enables lower cost per page and total cost of ownership for Officejet and Officejet Pro printing systems.

Packaging Options For Branded USB Flash Drives

print usb
by Daniele Muscetta

There are two schools of thought on whether you should put your printed USB flash drives in a gift box or not with the pro-box lobby being keen to ensure that the USB drives not only look the part but have a real impact when handed out. There’s no escaping the fact that branded USB flash drives look better boxed up, they look more like a “proper gift” and the when handed out the they create more of an impact.

Whilst most branded USB flash drives are supplied as a minimum in individual “poly” bags these are designed to protect them from bumps and scathes in transit rather than adding anything to the overall aesthetic. If you are simply going to remove the flash drives from these bags and incorporate them into your own presentation pack then any packing over and above the “poly” bags would be a waste.

But, if you are for example handing out the branded USB flash drives to delegates or speakers at a conference, or to prospective customers or high net worth clients then gift boxes or presentation tins really are a good idea. Gift boxes can also accommodate any lanyards, key rings or other marketing material that might be appropriate. Giving these items away in a single gift box simply looks better and is less clumsy than handing them out separately.

You don’t have to spend a fortune on gift boxes either. In some cases suppliers of branded USB sticks will offer a plain white gift box free of charge. Other options include plastic “snap” boxes with magnetic clasps and metal tins (with our without a cut-away window). If you really want to go the extra mile you can also get the boxes or tins printed to compliment your USB sticks and your advertising campaign or event.

The anti-box lobby typically cite the waste associated with the supply of boxes and tins, which will, in most cases, just end up in the bin. It’s not just the waste of the boxes and tins but the additional air miles the additional energy that is used in manufacturing them and transporting them around the world – 99% of all gift boxes supplied to house branded USB flash drives are imported from China. So, if you have a company that is in any way involved in environmental or green issues or is sympathetic to them then it might be best to avoid what some might consider as “unnecessary packaging”.

Hp Laserjet 1022/1022N/1022Nw – Personal Laser Printer With Wireless Options

HP offers an affordable solution for those in the market for a home laser printer with its 1022 series, which comes complete with not only a built in networking option, but the option of a wireless card as well in the 1022nw model. A robust monthly duty cycle along with competitive print speeds and built in memory make the HP Laserjet 1022 a great option for the personal user or small office.

A 150 sheet output bin along with a full 250 sheet input tray make the HP Laserjet 1022 and its sister models perfect for small to medium sized project demands. Its user friendly, easy to use control panel includes a wireless notification light that allows owners of the HP Laserjet 1022nw model, with its 802.11b/g wireless embedded Ethernet card, to notice if the printer is currently connected to a network. This helpful feature makes the device great for the household wishing to interface with a laser printer from multiple rooms.

For users with direct connection requirements, a high speed USB 2.0 port is made available in all versions of the HP Laserjet 1022. Also standard for the model are 8 MBs of print memory, to help keep complicated processes moving along at an acceptable pace, and a powerful 266 MHz processor.

HP’s unique all in one laser print cartridge, along with a user friendly, one door access design makes ink replacement easier than ever. A maximum monthly duty cycle of up to 8,000 pages also means that fairly high output demands can be met without incident, and HP’s one year limited replacement plan backs the product if problems do arise.

With a first page out time of only 8 seconds, single page print jobs come with minimal wait time, and further pages will print at a rapid speed of 19 pages per minute for letter sized paper. A high resolution of 1200 x 1200 dots per inch also ensures quality, and clear, professional text and imagery.

Special print media such as envelopes, transparencies, labels, card stock, post cards, and vellum are made possible via the HP Laserjet 1022′s 10 page priority feed slot, and custom paper sizes are selectable as well in sizes up to legal, 8 x 14 size, and down to 3 x 5 inches for index cards.

The HP Laserjet 1022 series operates at a conservative 300 watts, making it Energy Star compliant, but, even more impressive, is its 2 watt standby mode that allows users to leave the printer on for extended periods of time without worrying about extensive energy costs.

A footprint of only 14.6 inches by 9.6 inches makes the HP Laserjet 1022 and its variants perfect for users with small space limitations, and its weight of only 12.1 pounds makes it easily transportable if frequent relocation is necessary. The device also stands at a mere 9.5 inches tall which, along with a price tag appropriate for businesses of any size, make this personal HP Laser printer suitable for any light duty occasion.

Hp Color Laserjet 3800 – Color Printer With Multiple Model Options

Though HPs 3800 series has recently been discontinued to make way for newer technology and faster print speeds, the HP Color LaserJet 3800 and its variants still offer some of the most impressive color laser print specifications within their product category. Coming in four different models, the HP Color LaserJet 3800, 3800n, 3800dn, and 3800dtn, this line of color laser devices offers something for everyone regardless of your color printing demands.

With print speeds of up to 22 pages per minute across the board, whether for color or monochrome, all four units boast rapid print times. Output capacity is also standard regardless of the model number, and is locked at 200 sheets, which should be more than enough room considering the HP Color LaserJet 3800′s performance levels.

Memory levels vary from model to model, with the base unit offering only 96 MBs of random access memory, and the upgraded models carrying more standard RAM. The HP Color LaserJet 3800n comes equipped with 160 MBs of RAM, while the duplexing models both offer 288 MBs. All models are upgradable as far as memory is concerned, but only to a maximum total of 544 MBs.

Paper handling abilities also vary drastically from unit to unit. The HP Color LaserJet 3800, as well as the networking models, the HP Color LaserJet 3800n and 3800dn, come standard with a 250 sheet letter and legal sized tray, as well as an additional 100 sheet multi purpose tray than can be utilized for additional regular paper storage, or for special paper types including but not limited to envelopes, transparencies, labels, glossy paper, bond paper, color laser paper, and all types of recycled paper.

An additional 500 sheet capacity paper tray is available for separate purchase to bring the 3800′s total potential storage capacity to an impressive 850 sheets, or, the HP Color LaserJet 3800dtn model is available with the 500 sheet tray included.

While the base model HP Color LaserJet 3800 does not come with an Ethernet port, network expandability is left optional if you change your mind. The three other units have external network devices included, and the 3800dn and 3800dtn versions also include built in duplexing hardware for automatic double sided printing in either black and white or color.

All units boast an impressive 65,000 imprinted sheet maximum monthly duty cycle, though HP recommends much less wear and tear on the unit for optimal life span of the product. Either way, HP backs the devices with a one year limited warranty that includes not only web based and telephone tech support, but next day on site repair service for 12 months as well.

A hard drive of up to 20 GBs can be added on to the hardware for permanent storage of data, as well as multiple, simultaneous project spooling when dealing with network usage. None of the four models offer a standard hard drive, making it exclusively an additional purchase, and further adding to the HP Color LaserJet 3800‘s powerful versatility, and customizability to better suit your demands.

HP LaserJet P3005 ? Monochrome Laser Series with Network Options

The HP LaserJet P3005 printer series was designed to be flexible, better suiting it for very specific work demands. With five model variations available, buyers can choose the hardware set that best suits their needs, without wasting money on accessories that are frivolous.

While the base model operates at up to 35 pages per minute, which stays constant throughout each of the five models, certain variations in the hardware include more standard RAM memory, allowing for better print speed consistency when dealing with larger printing tasks. Also consistent among the printers in the series is the efficient 400 MHz processor.

Model variation options include a HP LaserJet P3005d duplexing model, which makes double sided printing automatic, as well as includes additional standard memory, and the HP LaserJet P3005n printer which includes an HP Jetdirect fast Ethernet embedded print server and a total of 80 MBs of on board memory.

The base model comes equipped with only 48 MBs of internal memory, but all printers in the HP LaserJet P3005 are expandable up to 320 MBs. The HP LaserJet P3005dn variation comes complete with both duplexing capabilities and a Jetdirect Ethernet card, and, lastly, the HP LaserJet P3005x comes with duplexing, networking, and an additional 500 sheet paper tray for a total storage capacity of 1,100 sheets.

Standard paper handling abilities come in the form of a single 500 sheet paper tray and a 100 sheet multipurpose tray for special media types such as envelopes, card stock, and transparencies. The additional 500 sheet tray can be added to the models that lack it, and can be useful when constant switching back and forth from letter to legal sized paper is necessary. Output capacity rests at a very comfortable 250 sheets and an additional 100 sheet rear output bin. Up to 10 envelopes or 75 transparencies can also be exported to these bins.

The HP LaserJet P3005 comes with more connectivity options than we often see in bare bones laser printers, and includes an IEEE 1284-B compliant parallel port as well as a Hi Speed USB 2.0 port. Networked models also include an active Ethernet port, and all printers in the series come with an open EIO slot for expansion.

On top of the HP LaserJet P3005 series’ incredibly fast print speed, the unit also comes equipped with HP Instant On technology which allows for a warm up time of virtually zero and a first page out time of only 9.5 seconds. True 1200 x 1200 dot per inch resolution is attainable, and HP FastRes 1200 gives users a 1200 dpi equivalent while maintaining the device’s top print speed.

Further expandability options include various warranty extensions for up to three years, as well as HP Jetdirect wireless USB 2.0 print servers, and other wireless connectivity options which can help to make networking the device easier than ever. An additional hard drive can be useful for storing frequently used data for long terms, helping to get the most out of this fast, user friendly monochrome printer.
