Imagine that you are working hard at creating a presentation to show case a new software application created by your organization. You plan to include screen shots highlighting the unique features of the software application along with notes on how these features work. You have it all planned but there is just one glitch. The software application can only be installed on a PC with specific configuration, so the software application is installed on a server, which is present in the server room.

All this ensures that you frequently need to physically go to the server to check each step. This is pretty time consuming and breaks your thought process each time you leave your presentation. You might wonder if you could just access the server and, therefore, the software application, from your own PC. This can be easily achieved using a Remote Desktop Connection.

Moreover, when you use a Remote Desktop Connection, the host PC can access all applications and plug-and-play devices of the remote PC. With the appropriate permissions, Remote Desktop Connection also allows you to install and uninstall software applications on the remote PC. You can also configure settings such as system, device, audio, and video on the remote PC. What’s more, you can do all this without physically going to the PC repair shop.

In our example, you can access the software application on the server and even capture the screen grabs you require. Then, you can use an e-mail application to send the screen grabs to yourself. You can even send the completed presentation to the remote PC and use its color printer to print copies of your presentation.

How can the Remote Desktop Connection be used at home?
The Remote Desktop Connection is very useful at home when something goes wrong with your PC, especially if it has to do with the software or the setting of your PC. Envelope Printing Tips

There is a good reason that envelope printing does not get a great deal of thought.  With e-mail and voicemail replacing most printed correspondence, envelopes are not as important as they were a decade or two ago.  But, like it or not, we still have to send written correspondence to customers, employees, and others.  With the cost for envelope printing dropping dramatically in recent years, it’s worth taking a little bit of time to think through the following tips for sending your envelope printing project to the presses.

Use color
Full color envelope printing is important for engaging your customers and making your logo and other branding information stand out.  The cost for full color is very reasonable with the advent of digital printing.

Include your logo
Make sure to include your logo on the front of your envelope printing.  This helps your customer or employee quickly recognize who sent the letter.  With as much junk mail as we all receive, it is important to help people identify important mail.  The best way to do that is to include your logo on the front.

Return address
Don’t forget the return address.  It’s worth taking the time to make sure that the return address you include is up-to-date and accurate for any returned mail you want to receive.  Some businesses only put their P.O. Box address and find out later that the post office has had to discard mail because of an overflow.

Order bulk
The easiest way to make envelope printing affordable is to order bulk.  Doubling your order will likely only see a 10-20% increase in cost.  The more you order, the better deal you can get.  If you need more than 3000 envelopes – which is reasonable for even medium-sized companies – your costs should be around 10¢ per envelope.

Top 10 Tips for Buying Custom USB Memory Sticks

There is a real growth in the demand for custom USB Memory sticks but for many the world of promotional memory sticks, branded memory sticks, printed memory sticks and custom USB memory sticks is all a bit of a mystery. To help you understand what they are and how to go about ordering them here’s our top 10 tips:

Understand what a customised memory stick is. They should not be confused with standard “factory owned” designs that simply have your brand or logo printed onto them. A custom USB Memory stick is manufactured specifically for you and you will “own” the finished design. Typically custom USB memory sticks are manufactured in a 2 dimensional or 3 dimensional shapes to represent your brand, product or in a shape that works with your advertising and marketing campaign. Pretty much anything can be manufactured so don’t be afraid to ask for what might seem impossible. Custom sticks in the shape of bottles, cans, fruits, cars, forklifts, footballs, baseballs, cartoon characters, badges, poker chips, bullets and even tampons have been manufactured. Choose your material – Custom USB Memory sticks can be manufactured from a range of materials including but not limited to plastic, PVC, ABS, Silicon, PET, rubber, wood, leather and metal. If in any doubt ask your supplier and get some samples so you can feel/see how the material influences the finished product. Be aware that for some intricate designs the factories may not be able to manufacture them in all of the materials available. Be clear in your brief to your supplier. Most good suppliers will have their own in-house design team and be able to work up concepts and ideas for you and they should be willing to do this free of charge. The requirement on you is to articulate what you want, how its going to be used and to provide some context. If your supplier is expecting you to deliver a finished design and drawing for the factory to work from then they are probably best avoided. There are experts in the field of custom USB memory sticks so work with one of these. Allow sufficient time. Ideally your supplier is going to need around 4 weeks to deliver your custom USB memory sticks so factor this into your project plan. This time allows for the development of the concept, the completion of design drawings and mocks ups for approval, a physical sample, modifications and the final delivery. Insist on a physical sample. Whilst photographs from the factory of the manufactured custom sticks are “ok” they are no substitute for seeing and handling the real thing. Your supplier should also be keen to do this for you, as they will want you to approve the production against a real sample. Make sure the right grade of flash memory is being used. Grade A memory chips are new and give you access to the full amount of advertised memory on the Chip. All other grades of memory chip make less of the advertised memory available for use and in some cases are re-cycled. In other words they are memory chips taken out of used kit or recovered from USB sticks that have failed the build QA process. If you end up with anything other than Grade A memory chips you are likely to experience a higher failure rate, you won’t be able to store as much information on the stick as expected and its possible you’ll overpay for what you’re getting. Always check with your supplier that they are using Grade A memory chips.  Choose the right memory capacity for your project. There’s no point going to all the trouble of getting your own custom USB memory sticks designed and manufactured and then skimping on the memory. Typical memory sizes used today are 1GB but there is a trend towards 2GB as the price differential between the two capacities drops. RoHS Compliance – although the memory sticks are being manufactured for you and not for general sale they still need to be RoHS compliant. RoHS stands for the Restriction of Hazardous Substances and it applies to thousands of electrical and computer parts and components imported into the EU. This is EU Legislation and you must comply with it. Finding out you have imported non-RoHS compliant products and then pushing the blame back to your supplier won’t wash. The fines are significant so ensure you ask the right questions and get copies of RoHS certificates. Choose the right supplier/partner. Lots of companies offer standard printed and promotional USB memory sticks but far fewer have any experience in the delivery of custom USB memory sticks. If in any doubt ask for references, get samples and read up on any cases studies. A custom USB memory stick requires time, energy and money so don’t waste any of these valuable resources.

Tips to Avoid Common Problems of Color LaserJet Printers

Do you know that according to experts, several reputed printer manufacturers install mechanisms that are able to encrypt serial numbers and manufacturing codes on every document that the machines are printing? There may be many such facts about your printing machine that you might not know. But, there is some basic information that you must be aware of, to be able to handle your machine in a better way. While this would help you to understand your machine’s functionality, this will also allow you to find solutions to certain basic problems that you might face regarding the working of your color LaserJet printers . Knowledge of the working principle of your color LaserJet would help you to troubleshoot problems yourself rather than spending money. Following some simple tips would help you to understand and pinpoint the problem and find a feasible solution.

Paper-feed problems: If you are feeding papers in the tray incorrectly, chances are that it may lead to the jamming of papers inside the machine. Remember, a color laser toner is costly so you can’t afford to waste it. Thus, paper-feed problems are user errors and you may not need to call for experts. However, you can always take suggestions from professionals on the right ways of using color LaserJet for printing.

Loading the paper-tray properly: Paper-jamming problems in your color LaserJet printer is often caused due to improper loading of the paper tray. If the tray is not loaded properly, the paper pick-up rollers are not able to pull the paper properly to start the printing process. Also check if the paper-hold down mechanism of the machine is working fine.

Paper handling: You must know how to handle the paper before you are finally inserting it in the machine. If you want your color LaserJet printers to produce good quality shades of different colors, you should lightly fan the bundle of paper. This will ensure that the papers are not sticking together. Before inserting make sure that the sheets are lined properly.

In case of reusing paper: Reusing paper for printing is a good idea. But while you intent to use the backside of an already printed paper, make sure that the corners are squared away to facilitate better printing. Before putting the paper back into the machine, make sure that it has cooled down as hot paper tends to wrinkle.

After checking above factors if you are facing a frequent breakdown of your color LaserJet printer, its time to call for LaserCare expert.

Tips on Cheap Postcard Printing

Today, due to the declining economic situation in the world, cheap or inexpensive is one of the most common catchwords. If you’re involved in the direct mailing business for marketing, you probably will look for inexpensive postcard printing with the intention to save more funds for your business campaigns. Really, the direct mailing promotions budget can be decreasing because of the deficiency in interest and sales in the today’s markets. Anyway, you can’t just give up promotions just because you don’t have sufficient budget. Promotions are the most important segment of bringing the business up to the high level. This is why we are “stuck” with cheap postcard printing.

There are lots of opportunities of realizing it, but you would have to adjust your preferences. Adjusting sizes of postcards and using cheap mailing services are some of the fruitful tactics you can use to save funds in marketing of direct mail.

And so now you may choose some inexpensive options on your postcard printing. At first, you should think about the paper kind. There are many different types of postcard paper, but the most moneywise type would be “uncoated” type. This paper simply goes without any gloss on it. If you think this will look too cheap, you can also consider a one size glossed paper. You’ll get gloss on the cover side, while saving money on the front side.

When you settle this, you should think about your color printing options. The majority of printing companies will suggest the two size four-color postcard printing. Of course, that’s the most costly option. In order to get you postcard printing cheap, you should consider printing four-colors on one postcard side and leave the other side blank. And since you write simple messages on the backside you’ll have no worries on this case. But if you want a fine looking printed message on the backside, you may print your postcards in four-one color option – the front side will be printed in full color and the backside will simply have black ink (for instance) for the words. This will augment the expense a little, but you’ll get nice messages at the postcard’s backside as compensation.

And at last, you may also save funds by using inexpensive postcard mailing services. Using the national service might cost you a considerable sum, and the toil it demands to address and put stamps on all your postcards.

There are some mailing facilities that don’t require post stamps. They’re simply doing the courier services – they deliver postcards to the specified addresses. Usually these mailing services are parts of postcard printing companies. You can simply ask the postcard printing company you have referred to if it can offer these facilities for you. And if they do, rise and shine, for you can print and distribute the postcards in one place. This will set apart any extra expenses you could do if you’d distributed our postcards in the old manner.

Universal Print And Copy provides Digital Printing Service, Business Brochure , Card, Poster Printing and many more printing services.

Multiple Tips to Buy a Multifunction Printer

The phase of economic depression has done something positive, indeed. Those who run their small-scale offices have turned more saving-friendly. They are devising and applying latest and unique methods of effective cost-cutting.

So if you are one of those who want to save the maximum, then you need to start from basics. Start from choosing the best office automation products. Go out to grab a multifunction printer. It will help you to make the most of your plans. How?

Buying a multifunction printer can be a boon to your business. For fun part, it can be your new saving account or a piggy bank. It will help you a lot to reduce costs and office expenses.Surely, a machine which works not only as a copier, printer or scanner but also helps you in receiving and sending the faxes can be no less than a boon. However, you need to be a bit careful while buying your printer.

Choose Your Technology : Like any other conventional printer, a multifunction printer comes either with laser technology or ink-jet technology both. It is upon you which one to choose. Remember, the ink-jet multifunction printers are the most suitable printers for low-scale businesses.

Paper-holding Capacity : As you need to get printouts too frequently, the paper holding capacity of the printer must be sufficient. Choose a printer which can hold 200-250 sheets in its paper feeder.

See The Speed : Choosing a printer which prints documents at a great speed is a clever step. It really minimizes your office expenses. A good multifunction printer must print 20-30 pages per minute.

Memory Matters : This too depends upon the type of business you carry. A printer with a memory capacity of 6-8 MB is adequate enough for a small business holder.

Easy Integration and Installation : Your new multifunction printer needs to be efficient enough to get connected to the existing network easily. So don’t forget to ask for the user manuals or software which help you to install and integrate your printer with minimum effort.

Helping Wizards : Also a reliable printer is one which can guide you successfully when you face troubles while operating it. Thus look out how helpful are the inbuilt wizards which guide you step by step when you need troubleshooting. Also it helps in upgrading process.

User Friendly : As it is a multifunction printer, its operation becomes more complex. So you need to grab a product which is easy to use. The switches, well guided indications and signs describing the effortless use of the printer make it more user friendly.

Made for Multiple Users : A multifunction printer must be equipped to be used by multiple users at a single point of time . As there are no separate scanners and copiers, many people would want to use it synchronously. So there should be the feature of wireless connectivity so it can be used by multiple users accordingly.

LCD Screen : A less equipped printer needs a PC to get the photos printed. As you need to reduce costs drastically, you need to buy a multifunction printer which comes with a big LCD screen. Thus you will not require a PC.

Not only printers, you can have all types of office automation products at a single click.

Tips, Tricks and Treats for Your Envelope Printing Venture

The print medium has brought many tools that business owners can use to advance with their marketing gimmicks and strategies. Aside from the usual materials like business cards, postcards, flyers, brochures, catalogs and the likes, there is one more tool that can help you in utilizing more types in one promo period. This will be possible once you have taken advantage of envelope printing.

Envelope printing can be used for the following purposes:

Business envelopes
Social and invitation envelopes
Catalog envelopes

If you are to use the material to help you with your business, here are some elements that must be included on your envelopes:

Your business logo. This must be the same like the design that you use for your other marketing tools. Your target market must learn to associate such element with your company and with your products. You must help them do so by taking advantage of every marketing tool that you use to promote your business and including such vital element on every possible avenue.
Brand name. For the same reason that you have for making use of your logo, you must also make your brand name visible so the recall factor will be easier on the part of your clients. Use the same font and color. Do not change abruptly for the mere reason that one looks better than the other. You have to decide from the start how are you going to design your brand name. Decide on the fonts, the colors and the style.
Promotional images. Your envelopes must be appealing enough to catch people’s interests and make them want to open the material. You can do this by creating envelopes that look enticing and appear like they are teasing the recipients to open them.

To help you more about this material and how you can make them more effective and appealing enough to be opened, consider the following tips:

Have your materials printed in full colors. This is one way to get people’s attention and interest towards what could be contained on those envelopes. This will give you a boost because people will think that you are one company that is professional and can afford full color printing services. So they will get a feeling that they are dealing with a strong company and will be more confident in dealing transactions with you in the future.
You must always use first class in terms of postage. You must not take for granted the old saying that first impression lasts. Your envelopes will be the basis for how you will be viewed by people. The envelopes will be their basis if they are going to proceed and open them to see what’s inside.
Avoid stamping your return addresses on the materials. You can ask the right printing company to include the part when you avail envelope printing from them. You envelopes must appeal like they are the right container for the more exciting tools that people can look forward to when they have decided to open your envelopes.
