Why won’t my hp officejet 4200 all-in-one scan?

Question by Jorge Mondragon: Why won’t my hp officejet 4200 all-in-one scan?
My printer can fax, print, and copy but is unable to scan. When I attempt to scan something a message on the screen reads ” No scan options. You need to install or run device software for feature” I don’t understand why it is displaying that message since the software is installed. Can anyone help? Thanks

If you installed the software correctly, go in control panel and click on Scanners and Cameras and you should see the HP icon there. Click it and you are ready to scan.

Or go in your START menu and click on HP Solution Center in the HP folder to activate the scanner. You can scan from there as well.

Note that even if you press the SCAN button on the scanner, you NEED to load the software first or you will get that message “No scan options’

i dont know what else to do. i have an HP photo printer. i use it with my HP notebook. it just wont print. comes out blank. seems to have ink. how much is it to have someone fix it. do i take it somewhere or do i call a geek and they come to me?

The part that makes me feel bad for you is that you have no friends who can help you?

Sure call Geek Squad… Pay a ridiculous sum of money to solve something that’d take the average nerd 5 seconds to fix.

Maybe you should be nice, then you’d have friends.

it still scans and copies and i installed everything i had to but it still wqont print. what do i do?!?!?!?
i found out that my compuer doesnt see my printer like i look for it and it doesnt show uo and its clearly connected!

you need to uninstall the printer and re-install it, or restart your computer and printer whitch means unplugging the printer.

My laserjet 4250tn won’t install under Vista.?

Hello all,

We have received a new machine and it has Vista. Everything works fine except strangely one printer won’t install: HP Laserjet 4250tn.

To put things in perspective. I’m admin on the computer, there two printer connected to it with a USB cable and I have downloaded the drivers from HP.

The thing is the 4250 printer appears in the system properties under a IEEE node, but nothing in printers. I’ve tried to delete the printer and reboot, no luck. The other printer (old laserjet 1200) shows up also in that node but works ok.

I’ve tried several download from HP.com but it seems it’s not related to drivers since the printer is recognized just not a printer ?

Any idea ?

an all in one printer hp 6480 won’t print using network after the usb driver has been installed. when i first installed it just using the network or my isp/online providers wireless router, it worked fine. but after i installed the usb driver, it wont print through the network anymore. anybody had the same prob and have a solution?

It prints fine, but when I try to scan I get a message saying it is not connected or powered off. This is obviously not the case, as it will print. What’s wrong with it?

When i press the scan button the little screen says “waiting for computer”, and then eventually just goes back to the date and time. When i press the scan to button it says “not setup on computer.” Does anyone else have these problems? What can i do?

I have a HP 3050 Laserjet all in one printer/scanner/fax/copier, but it doesnt seem to fax. Everything goes fine, the paper is read then it says please put in number, when the number is put, there is NO DIALING TONE. I have no idea why there is no dialing tone.
